February 22-24, 2002 Wainui YMCA Camp, New Zealand

The 2002 IORNZ (Indian Owners Register of New Zealand) annual rally, this year nicknamed "The Peninsula Pow Wow", will be held at the Wainui YMCA Camp, February 22-24, 2002. It has been organized by the IORNZ President Ben Devereux, assisted by Paddy Snowden.

Wainui camp is at Akoroa (www.akaroa.com), a seaside village on New Zealands South Island. The nearest city with an international airport is Christchurch.

The village of Akoroa was settled by the French in New Zealands pioneer days, and is about 45 minutes south of Christchurch.

In keeping with IORNZ tradition the rally is a family event and the weekend will include a full program including a scenic ride around the local area and plenty to do for all the family.

A beautiful Pacific Ocean beach with great surf and swimming is only five minutes walk from the camp.

Catering and accomodation is provided at Wainui by the YMCA.

Ben and Paddy were so impressed the sucess of the racing weekend followed by IORNZ rally at Pukekohe in 2001, that they have arranged for a special racing class to include Indian racing in the Sound of Thunder race meeting held by the BEARS club on the Sunday of the rally. This will be held at Ruapuna Raceway near Christchurch. At the time of writing there are seven, possibly more racing Indians attending, including an entry from Peter Beckert in Germany. Practice will be on the Friday morning before the rally.

Entry fee of $85 NZ includes five meals, accomodation, rally badge and certificate. $85 NZ is only about $35 US at this time.

Easter 2002 St. Brendans College,Queensland, Austrailia

This year the All Indian Rally will be held at St. Brendans College at Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland. Although this is the eleventh annual All Indian Rally held in Queensland, this is the first time that the event will be held this far north.

It is a great opportunity for Indian riders to catch up with all the regulars, together with meeting other riders who have been unable to attend previous rallies.

The site is set in serene surroundings handy to the beach and all shopping facilities, and hosts numerous powered camping sites, dormitaries, toilets, hot showers and barbeque faclities.

Yeppoon has plenty for the family to see and do while you enjoy the ride. For all non-riding enthusiasts Sunday morning will be open to the public to view field events for the admission price of a gold coin donation with the proceeds going to charity.
