VI
Mailing List
|
|
Besides this web
magazine there is a VI mailing list with currently around 370 subscribers
(or "Listers", as you will see them called elsewhere in the magazine).
The list is primarily for technical subjects, parts projects and Indian
how-to subjects, but we also have more general Indian related threads.
The mailing list is open to anyone with an interest in Indians, and is
a great place to learn more about them. Much of the material in the magazine
comes from the mailing list.
There are archives
of all previous list postings, profiles of the subscribers (if they wish
to post one), and space for uploading pictures or other files to be shared.
Not sure what a
mailing list is? It's a (free, non-commercial) setup where email sent is
forwarded to everybody on the list to read, and their answers likewise.
It is an amazingly good way of meeting new people, getting answers to your
problem, and building an online community like this which reach across
the world. The VI List has now matured to the stage where Listers are meeting
in the "real world" to continue the cooperation started in cyberspace (reports
from the VI booths at Tenino
and Davenport in
the September 20000 issue).
Please be forewarned
that there is a lot of mail coming from the VI List. It is not the biggest
of the Indian mailing lists, but it sure is the most active!
To join the VI mailing
list, either go to this
page and follow the instructions (or just read more about the VI mailing
list) or send an empty email to this address VirtualIndian-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
Remember to send this message from the address you wish to receive list
mail on!
You will receive
a confirming email with instructions for unsubscribing, uploading files
etc when you sign on. If you should have any problems, please check out
the Mailing List "Help"
page, and it that doesn't solve your problems, send me an email: moen@get2net.dk
